2009 BOA at Indy
Usually when you think of Indianapolis you think of great drivers. Well, they were not behind the wheels of the buses when the marching band and color guard went to the BOA Regional Championships. On the way there, bus 2 tapped the mirror of a very new pickup. Information was exchanged and all was well. Later, bus 3 needed a jump because the battery went dead; battery jumped and all was well. On the way home, bus 1 turned a little early and wedged itself on a three foot concrete wall. The kids were unloaded to a safe area, the dads pushed the bus off the wall, duct tape was applied, and all was well. You can see pictures here of the entire day. Look for the girl’s shirt that pretty much explained the episodes with the bus.
Now for the good news. Competing in a tough group of 30 schools, the VJA Marching Band and Color Guard placed 14th. This was an indoor show at the Lucas Oil Stadium. It was a treat to see the precision of these kids projected on the giant screens in the stadium. Congratulations, Color Guard and Band on a great season.
